Mayor Sean McIntyre Resigns

Mayor McIntyre is resigning to take on a position as the Chief of Staff at the City of Red Deer. Town Council will appoint a Councillor as interim Mayor at the Council Meeting on August 23, 2021. The appointment is effective until the municipal election on October 18, 2021.

Sylvan Lake Councillors Travel to Jordan

Councillors Hanson & RillingThis November, Councillor Megan Hanson and Councillor Teresa Rilling, along with the Rob Simonds – Chief Administrative Officer for the Town of Colchester, Nova Scotia, traveled to the country of Jordan.

Brandon ElmYou’ve likely seen the highway signage, “STOP DED – prevent Dutch Elm Disease,” but maybe you’ve wondered what DED is, let alone how we stop it.
The province of Alberta is considered Dutch Elm Disease (DED) FREE; however, across North America, including within Saskatchewan and Manitoba, the disease is destroying elm trees. Once an elm is infected, since no cure exists, the tree must be removed and destroyed, immediately.
