New "exchange zone" means added safety for members of the public

20210112_103605The Sylvan Lake RCMP detachment has created an exchange zone for the public to use.
The purpose of this new zone, is to allow the public the ability to meet others when they need to exchange something (think an unused guitar, or a patio set). This safe-exchange site is located in the front parking lot of the RCMP detachment (4260 - 50 Street), on the north side; a new " exchange zon e" sign has been installed, and two designated parking spots have been reserved.

IMPACT Youth Coalition | Year One Celebration

IMPACT Youth SummitThe Sylvan Lake Youth IMPACT (Individuals Making Positive Action and Change Today) Coalition is a group of youth in grades 7-12 who plan, create, implement and facilitate initiatives and activities that promote unity, acceptance and belonging for all residents of Sylvan Lake. IMPACT is funded through an AHS Addiction Prevention grant and supported by the Town of Sylvan Lake.

Students Bring Awareness to Local Environmental Issues

Enviro awarenessOn January 15, Sylvan Lake students, Brooklyn Liikala, Rebecca Kingston, Gracie Langford, and Grace Degenhardt - together with their Advanced Outdoor Education teacher Linda Wagers, braved the cold to perform a skit for Town Council and staff in Council Chambers.
