The Meltdown

The Meltdown, previously known as "Kites on Ice", is March 14, 2020, between 1:00 and 4:00 PM. Find us east of the pier, along the waterfront. 

What's "The Meltdown"?

A festival of colour, this event inspires us to bid farewell to winter. Enjoy a "Holi" inspired colour throwing party, balloon candy drops, live DJ, hot air balloon and kite surfing demonstrations, and more!

Our Culture Coordinator, Kristen, strongly recommends wearing old clothing you don't mind ruining, as the colour party gets messy! You're also invited to tag us in any Instagram photos you collect during this event, so we can share! @VisitSylvanLake #BrilliantAllYear 

The event is free; however, we are selling the colour bombs and packets for $5 each on location. Plan to purchase at least three for a wild colour combo.

In addition to the Meltdown, we're coordinating a weekend "Leprechaun Hunt" along the waterfront. Participating businesses are providing clues to help you find the leprechaun and win prizes!
