Local COVID-19 Updates
UPDATED FEBRUARY 10, 2021
The Government of Alberta has introduced the following province-wide, mandatory measures:
SOCIAL GATHERINGS
- All indoor – public and private – are prohibited. This does not apply to service visits from caregivers, health or child care providers and co-parenting arrangements.
- Close contacts are limited to household members only. Individuals who live alone may have the same two non-household close contacts for the duration of this restriction.
- Outdoor gatherings of no more than 10 are permitted
- Wedding services restricted to 10 attendees; funeral services are restricted to 20; attendees must maintain physical distance of 2 metres, and wear masks.
MANDATORY MASKING
- The mandatory indoor public masking requirement will be extended province-wide.
- Applies to all indoor workplaces and facilities outside the home. Applies to employees, visitors and the general public. Farm operations are excluded.

WHAT ELSE YOU CAN DO
We must continue following existing public health measures to keep ourselves and others safe:
- Keep 2 metres apart
- Wear a mask
- Practice good hygiene: wash your hands often and cover coughs and sneezes
- Monitor your symptoms every day
- If sick, stay home, get tested, and follow mandatory isolation requirements while waiting for results:
- if positive, isolate from others for 10 days or until symptoms are gone, whichever is longer
- if negative, stay home until you're better
- Avoid non-essential travel
- Get the flu shot to keep influenza cases low so health workers can focus on the COVID-19 pandemic
Additional information on the new measures can be found here, along with guidance on gatherings and cohorts, as well as masking best practices.
