Third Quarter Status Reports
Council reviewed quarterly reports from the Divisions of Parks & Protective Services, and Public Works. In addition to accepting the reports as information, the following motions, were carried:
- Council extends the completion date for project CP1515-02, North Municipal Water Reservoir & Pump House, from December 2020 to December 2021.
- Council extends the deadline for the completion of the capital project CP1729, 46th Street & 47th Avenue Traffic Signals, to December 31st, 2021.
- Council extends the deadline for the detailed design of the 30th Street Lift Station (CP1817) to December 31st, 2021.
- Council extends the completion date for CP1852, Hunter Road Rehabilitation, from December 2020 to December 2021 and increase the budget to $1,755,969.
- Council extends the deadline for the completion of the capital project CP1904 53rd Street Modernization to December 31st, 2021.
- Council extends the completion date for project CP1909, West Village Modernization, from December 2020 to December 2021.
- Council extends the deadline for the completion of the capital project CP1923 Water Supply Main for North Water Reservoir to December 31st, 2022.
- Council extends the completion date for project CP2018, Pogadl Park Sanitary Main Extension, from December 2020 to December 2021.
- Council extends the deadline for the completion of the capital project CP2023 60th Street & Memorial Trail Intersection upgrade to December 31st, 2021.
- Council extends the completion date for project CP2034, Pogadl Park Water Main Extension, from December 2020 to December 2021.
- Council extends the deadline for the completion of the capital project OP1835 Lagoon BioSolid Removal to December 31st, 2021.
- Council extends the complete date for project CP1926, Storm Sewer Lift Station, from December 2020 to December 2021.
Lakeshore Drive Closure Review
Council accepted the Lakeshore Drive Closure Review, as information.
Cancellation of November 4 Committee of the Whole
Council cancelled the Committee of the Whole meeting scheduled for November 4, 2020.
CORPORATE SERVICES
Interest Charged on Overdue Accounts
Council granted Second and Third Reading to proposed Bylaw 1816/2020 authorizing interest charged on overdue accounts.
Bylaw 1247/2020 Repeal Council Expense Reimbursement
Council repealed Bylaw 1247/2020, as outlined in the report.
Sylvan Lake Municipal Library Budget
Council tabled the report and will consider the request from the Sylvan Lake Municipal Library during the 2021 Budget Deliberations.
Parkland Regional Library Budget Approval
Council approved the Parkland Regional Library Budget for the 2021 fiscal year at $8.55 per capita and will advise the PRL Board in writing.
PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT
Commercial Recreation and Entertainment Facility Building
Council approved Development Permit #175-2020 to construct a replacement building for a commercial recreation and entertainment facility located at 5324 Lakeshore Drive, subject to conditions.
Cannabis Retail Sales
Council approved a Cannabis Retail Sales Use located at 5040 – 50 Street, subject to conditions.
RECREATION, CULTURE & TOURISM
Festival and Events Revised Grant Process
Council approved the revised grant processes, as presented.
