Local health services

Users of the Advanced Ambulatory Care Service (AACS), facility will have access to doctors, registered nurses, nurse practitioners, and licensed practical nurses.

When to use this service

Advanced Ambulatory Care Service (AACS) provides treatment for unexpected, but non-life-threatening health concerns. Common conditions treated at AACS include:

  • Minor bone fractures;
  • Sprains;
  • Minor cuts and burns;
  • Asthma symptoms;
  • Dehydration;
  • Infections;
  • Ear aches; and/or
  • Fevers

Advanced Ambulatory Care Service offers lab and X-ray services, if required.

Advanced Ambulatory Care Service is not for those with life-threatening health conditions, prescriptions, prescription refills, or for a check-up. 

If you are unsure if you should visit Advanced Ambulatory Care, or another health service provider, call Health Link at 811 to receive advice from a registered nurse, 24/7.

This facility does not have ambulance bays. Ambulances with patients are not accepted on site unless previously approved by the doctor on site.

Individuals wondering whether the AACS remains open or not can call 403 877-2241 to inquire with staff. Calls will be answered, as staff are able to, around supporting patients. Temporary closures known ahead of time will be posted online as part of AHS’ bi-weekly reporting of temporary service disruptions.

Housing authorities

Established in 1971, the Red Deer Housing Authority (RDHA) manages social housing owned by the government. RDHA administers 309 community housing units located in Red Deer, Sylvan Lake and Innisfail, as well as rent supplement programs.

Designated a Management Body by Ministerial Order in 1995, RDHA is bound by regulations of the Alberta Housing Act. The Ministerial Order empowers the Management Body to manage the social housing owned by the government and to carry out other activities related to the provision of housing and associated support services.
