Town Adopts Business Resiliency Strategy

Posted on:

The Town of Sylvan Lake has approved its Business Resiliency Strategy to help the local business community navigate the COVID-19 reopening process.

The Plan has three parts:

  • Dissemination of information, as well as a needs assessment;
  • Initiatives that support businesses through the reopening; and
  • Targeted business support and one-on-one guidance.

Local businesses may access relevant and up-to-date information on the Town’s Virtual Business Resource Centre at www.sylvanlake.ca/Business-Resource-Centre; business owner/operators are also encouraged to visit the Business Resource Centre to subscribe to the Town’s Economic Development newsletter.

Looking forward, the Town is currently working on a “Community Marketing” initiative, as part of the Plan’s “initiatives that support business” directive. A series of online messaging will target residents, visitors, and potential new residents, and invite them to reconnect and explore the community, businesses, and services.

Finally, support for businesses through online training, webinars, and business coaching is planned. More information on this initiative will be made available shortly, including Business Coaching program eligibility. Interested business owner/operators are again encouraged to subscribe to the Town’s Economic Development newsletter to keep up-to-date on these initiatives.

Business owner/operators are also invited to reach out to the Town’s Economic Development Officer directly, at amercer@sylvanlake.ca
