ADMINISTRATION
Federation of Canadian Municipalities Motion
Council granted approval for the Chief Administrative Officer to sign the Memorandum of Agreement with the Canadian Federation of Municipalities for the Jordan Municipal Support Project, as described.
Amendment to Chief Administrative Officer Bylaw
Council granted Second and Third Reading to Bylaw 1800/2020, the Chief Administrative Officer Bylaw.
2020 Project Work Plans
Council reviewed and approved a number of 2020 Project Work Plans, including, but not limited to:
- Centennial Park Playground Redevelopment
- Dog Park Improvement
- Stake Park Enhancements
CORPORATE SERVICES
Central Alberta Regional Assessment Review Board
Council granted First Reading to Bylaw 1802/2020, the Regional Assessment Review Board Bylaw.
2019 Concerns and Requests Report
Council accepted the 2019 public concerns and requests report, as information.
PARKS & PROTECTIVE SERVICES
Municipal Emergency Management Bylaw
Council granted Second and Third Reading to proposed Bylaw 1798/2020, Municipal Emergency Management, as presented.
PEOPLE SERVICES
Workplace Respect Policy
Council approved the replacement of Human Resource Policy H-005-001A, with Human Resource Policy H-005-001B, as outlined in the report.
PUBLIC WORKS
Leak Adjustment Policy
Council approved the Leak Adjustment Policy, as outlined in the report.
RECREATION CULTURE AND TOURISM
Amendment to Community Services Fee Bylaw
Council approved the First Reading of Bylaw 1803/2020 to amend the Community Services Fee Bylaw, as outlined in the report. Amendments include, but are not limited to:
- Adding rental fees for the golf and batting cages;
- Removal of child-minding reservation fee and updating to a single drop-in fee;
- Adding rental fees associated with the mobile stage;
- Adding rental fees associated with the movie screen.
Community Sprit Capital Grant Applications
Council approved the allocation of Community Spirit Capital Grant funds to the following applicants:
- Sylvan Lake Recreation Hockey, pending conditions;
- H.J Cody School Athletic Society;
- Sylvan Lake Municipal Library;
- Sylvan Lake Minor Baseball.
CORRESPONDENCE
Council approved sponsorship of the 2020 Flags of Remembrance event, in the amount of a $1,000 contribution from the Town of Sylvan Lake.
