Sylvan Lake FCSS Honoured with Award of Excellence

Posted on:

The Town of Sylvan Lake is happy to announce that our team at the Family and Community Support Services Department, FCSS, has received the Family and Community Support Services Association of Alberta's "Award of Excellence", for a population under 20,000.

The award celebrates the spirit, imagination, and dedication to strengthening the social fabric of our community. To make winning the award even more special - being nominated by FCSS/Neighbourhood Place colleagues in Rocky Mountain House, and Eckville!

Council recognized the FCSS team at a regular meeting of Council on December 9th.

"We were left speechless when we found out we were nominated, so you can imagine our feelings of excitment when we learned that we had won! Our team is humbled, and so very grateful for this honour."
- Kelly Smith, FCSS Manager, Town of Sylvan Lake

On November 28, 2019, Councillor Teresa Rilling joined members of the Town's FCSS Team, Manager Kelly Smith, Community Development Coordinator Alissa McDonald, and Youth Services Supervisor Krista Carlson in Edmonton at the FCSSAA Conference; the group accepted the award on the behalf of the entire Town of Sylvan Lake FCSS Program.
