Proposed Iron Gate Outline Plan Amendment
Council approved amendments to the Iron Gate Outline Plan, as presented.

Bylaw 1791/2019, to amend Land Use Bylaw, and Re-designate lands
Council granted second and third reading to Bylaw 1791/2019. The subject property falls within the Iron Gate Outline Plan.

Development Permit #157-2019, Detached Dwelling with Secondary Suite
Council approved the development permit, as presented, with a relaxation to the maximum floor area of the suite from 75% to 81.9%, and a relaxation to the parking stall width for three parking stalls from 2.6 meters to 2.54 meters, subject to conditions.

Proposed Extension of Development Permit #152-2018, Cannabis Retail Sales
Council approved a one-year extension for a Cannabis Retails Sales Use Development Permit (September 24, 2019 to September 24, 2020).

PUBLIC WORKS

Pedestrian Safety Upgrade | 45 Avenue
Council approved a final design for pedestrian safety upgrades at 45 Avenue – adjacent to Steffie Woima School.

Council also directed Administration to proceed with construction of the pedestrian safety upgrades. 

Upgrades include rapid flash beacons at the crosswalk, realignment of trail, removal of rear lane access to 45 Avenue and associated turning bulb, and curb replacement.

FINANCE 

Second Quarter Concerns and Requests Report
Council accepted the 2019 Second Quarter Concerns and Requests Report, as information.

Capital Grant Funding
Council accepted the report on Capital Grant Funding as information.

GST and Municipal Cost-Sharing Agreements
Council passed a motion that the Town of Sylvan Lake supports the Town of Peace River in its quest to have the recent GST ruling overturned and advocate via the AUMA resolution at the upcoming convention and through our elected officials, to support a permanent solution being achieved ensuring such an interpretation of the Excise Tax Act cannot happen again.
