PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT

Land Use Bylaw Amendment – Cannabis Retail Sales
Council granted Third Reading to Bylaw 1760/2018 to amend the Town’s Land Use Bylaw.

Land Use Bylaw Amendment 
Council granted First Reading to Bylaw 1770/2018. 

The Town has been working with the Marina Bay Homeowners Association to provide residents with safe access to the lake, and a minor amendment to the size of allowable water access platforms was required.

Council has set August 27, 2018 at 6:00 PM in the Council Chambers as the date, time, and place for a Public Hearing.

Development Permit – façade improvements 5048 – 50 Street
Council approved the Development Permit for façade improvements subject to terms and conditions.

Development Permit – additional use 5048 – 50 Street
Council approved the Development Permit to allow an additional use for a commercial recreation and entertainment facility located at 5048 – 50 Street subject to conditions.

Development Permit – relaxation to allow tandem parking 5106 – 48 Avenue
Council approved the Development Permit for a tourist home with a relaxation to allow for tandem parking, subject to terms and conditions.

Development/Clean up Deposit Reconciliation
Council approved the transfer of the retained development/clean up deposit monies in the amount of $22,200 from liabilities to transportation reserves.

PUBLIC WORKS

Bylaw 1767/2018 to amend Offsite Levy Bylaw
Council set August 27, 2018 at 6:00 PM in Council Chambers as the date, time, and place for a Public Hearing on Bylaw 1737/2018.

Request for reallocation of funds
Council approved the reallocation of funds from the 44 Street reconstruction project to the Hunter Road reconstruction project. 

ADMINISTRATION

Project Status Reports
After reviewing project status reports,Council accepted all project status reports as information. Major projects are updated at sylvanlake.ca/TownProjects 

Façade Improvement Program
Council directed Administration to re-engage the landowners and continue the (downtown) Façade Improvement Project application processes, provided the project meets al requirements and the project is complete by the end of 2018.

Council also noted that should the project receive grant approval by Council, project funding of $15,000 would be allocated from operating contingency reserves for these projects.

Façade Improvement Program Grant Request 5048 – 50 Street
Council awarded a Façade Improvement Program grant of $7,500 to B.E.C. Development Corp., property owner of 5048 - 50 Street.

FINANCE

First and Second Quarter Concerns and Requests Report 
Council accepted the 2018 First and Second Quarter Concerns and Requests Report, as information.
