Apartments over 12 units can now get free recycling

If you own or manage a multi-family dwelling over 12 units in size in Sylvan Lake, you can receive free recycling services by registering below. The town of Sylvan Lake is participating in the Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) program.
What is Extended Producer Responsibility?
- A new framework that places the operational and financial responsibility for recycling on producers and manufacturers
- This project is initiated by the Government of Alberta, led by the Alberta Recycling Management Authority, and run by Circular Materials
It's free
- There are no costs to property owners since the producers and manufacturers are responsible for providing this service.
When?
- The program starts October 2026
- Registration is now open
Who can register?
- Building owners or property managers of dwellings larger than 12 units in size in Sylvan Lake can register for free recycling collection from your property
- Tenants cannot register
