CORPORATE SERVICES

Fiscal Year 2020

Council accepts tthe 2020 fiscal year unaudited financial reports as presented in Report AIR-375.

Fiscal Operating Surplus

Council approves the 2020 fiscal year operating surplus to go to the operating contingency reserve as presented in Report AIR-375.

Property Tax Bylaw

Council grants First Reading to Bylaw 1821/2021 establishing the 2021 property tax rates as outlined in Report AIR-376.

Electronic Document Transmission

Council grants Second and Third Reading to Bylaw 1827/2021 authorizing the electronic transmission of Town documents as outlined in Report AIR-374.

Amounts Owing to Tax Roll

Council approves Report AIR-377 to add the unpaid expenses and costs incurred by the Town to the tax rolls of those property owners who neglected to remove snow and ice from sidewalks adjacent to their properties and who, further, neglected to remit payment to the Town upon demand.

PARKS AND PROTECTIVE SERVICES

Pogadl Park Design Committe

Council approves the Pogadl Park Design Advisory Committee Terms of Reference as defined in AIR-38 and appoints two (2) council members (Clr. Mearns and Clr. Hanson) plus one (1) alternate member (Clr. Kloss) to the Pogadl Park Design Committee as defined in Report AIR-380.

PLANNING & DEVELOPMENT

Subdivision Authority Bylaw

Council grants all three Readings to Bylaw 1822/2021, as presented in Report AIR-381, being a Bylaw to establish the Subdivision Authority for the town 

Land Use Bylaw Amendment 

Council grants first reading to Bylaw 1824/2021, being a bylaw to amend the Town's Land Use Bylaw 1695/2015 and sets April 28, 2021 at 6:00 pm in the Council Chambers of the Municipal Government Building as the date, time and place for the public hearing on Bylaw 1824/2021. Council also directs administration to waive the fee for Development Permits, applied for as a result of Covid-19 health measures and also directs administration to waive the fee for the Town’s portion of the Building permit fees applied for as a result of Covid-19 health measures, totalling $150 per application, as requested in the report AIR-384.

PUBLIC WORKS

Traffic Interruption Policy

Council approves the Traffic Interruption Policy, Number E-003-001-B, as presented in Report AIR-371 and further that the Road Closure Policy, Policy E-003-001-A is hereby rescinded

CORRESPONDENCE

Mayor McIntyre moves that Council directs Administration to respond to the Veterans’ Voices of Canada request with the purchase of 4 Flags of Remembrance, for a total contribution of $1,000. 

Council will prepare a response for letters submitted by Grade 6 students at CP Blakely school/.
