PLANNING & DEVELOPMENT

  • Council grants Third (3rd) Reading of Bylaw #1842/2021, the Short-Term Accommodation Rental Licensing Bylaw, as presented in accordance with Report AIR-560
  • Council grants Third (3rd) Reading to proposed Bylaw 1851-2022, being a bylaw to amend the Town’s Land Use Bylaw 1695/2015, as presented in accordance with Report AIR-554
  • Council grants Third (3rd) Reading of Bylaw #1850/2022, being a bylaw to amend the Fees and Charges Bylaw #1833/2021, with Schedule M, Option 2, as the proposed fee schedule for short-term accommodation rentals, as presented in Report AIR-563

ADMINISTRATION

  • The hiring of a Chief Administrative Officer for the Town of Sylvan Lake shall be made by a selection committee consisting of Mayor Megan Hanson, Councillor Kjeryn Dakin and Councillor Jas Payne

CORPORATE SERVICES

  • Council approves the 2021 Audited Financial Statements as presented by BDO Canada LLP as included in Report AIR-555
  • Council gives Second and Third Reading to Bylaw 1854/2022, the Short-Term Operating Borrowing Bylaw, as outlined in Report AIR-559
  • Council gives Second and Third Reading to Bylaw 1855/2022, establishing the 2022 property tax rates as outlined in Report AIR-557
  • Council gives Second and Third Reading to Bylaw 1856/2022, authorizing the collection of a Supplementary Tax for the 2022 fiscal year, as outlined in Report AIR-558
  • Council accepts the offer to purchase the property at 4908 50 Avenue for $364,0000.00, plus GST

PARKS & PROTECTIVE SERVICES

  • Council grants Second and Third Reading to Bylaw 1852/2022, the Parks and Open Spaces Bylaw, as presented in accordance with Report AIR-561
  • Council directs Administration to prepare a new Vehicle for Hire Bylaw that allows for Transportation Network Companies to operate in Sylvan Lake, while only requiring taxi companies and Transportation Network Companies to purchase a business license, as outlined in Report AIR-562
