Council accepted the report, Town Advertising for Food Trucks, as information.
PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT
Amend Land Use Bylaw
Council granted Second and Third Reading to Bylaw 1770/2018 to amend the Land Use Bylaw 1695/2015.
The amendment is in relation to safe lake access for the Marina Bay Homeowners Association.
Amend Business Licensing Bylaw
Council granted First Reading to proposed Bylaw 1771/2018, the Business Licensing Bylaw.
The amendment is related to Cannabis Retail.
Request for Extension of time for conditional Subdivision Approval
– Grayhawk Phase 1
Council granted the request for an extension of time to July 17, 2019 for Subdivision File 2770-30-174.
Proposed Street Names for Grayhawk Subdivision
Council approved the names as submitted by the developer, being “Grayhawk Boulevard”, “Graham Drive”, and “Gray Close”.
Tripp Outline Plan Amendment
Council approved the amendment to the Tripp Lands Outline Plan.
Amendment to Land Use Bylaw – re-designate parts of Tripp Lands
Council granted First Reading to proposed Bylaw 1773/2018 to amend Land Use Bylaw 1695/2015, and referred the Bylaw to the Municipal Planning Commission for comment.
Council set September 24, 2018 at 6:00 PM in Council Chambers as the date, time, and place for the Public Hearing.
WDC Development Permit – Façade Improvements 5040 – 50 Street
Council approved Development Permit 146-2018 for façade improvements to the existing building located at 5040 – 50 Street, as presented, and subject to conditions.
Municipal Sustainability Plan
Council approved the Municipal Sustainability Plan: Sylvan Lake, Our Vision. Our Future.,as presented.

Red Deer County/Town of Sylvan Lake Intermunicipal Collaborative Framework
Council granted First and Second Reading to Bylaw 1768/2018, being a bylaw for the purpose of adoption the Town of Sylvan Lake/Red Deer County Intermunicipal Collaborative Framework.
COMMUNITY SERVICES
Lakeway Landing Dock
Council directed Administration to present a dock replacement project as part of the 2019 budget deliberations; and further directed Administration to advise the Lakeway Landing Community Group that one funding option may be to apply for the Sylvan Lake Community Spirit Grant, as well as pursuing other applicable community grants, or other funding options to offset the total capital request.
Sylvan Lake & Area Serenity Pet Shelter Society – Waive Fees
Council moved to maintain the already discounted rate of $67.20 for the Sylvan Lake & Area Serenity Pet Shelter Society for their booking on August 27, 2018.
Sylvan Lake Park Concerns and Supervision
Council accepted the Skate Park Concerns and Supervision Report as information, and directed Administration to engage with the public – stakeholders, park users, and parents, to address issues and consider possible solutions.
PUBLIC WORKS
Bylaw 1767/2018 - Off-Site Levy Amendment
Council granted Second and Third Reading to Bylaw 1767/2018, a Bylaw to amend the Off-Site Levy Bylaw 1741/2017.
Solid Waste Services Status
Council accepted a report on Solid Waste Services Status, as information.
Bylaw 1772/2018 – Waste Bylaw Amendment
Council granted First Reading to Waste Bylaw 1722/2018, as amended. The amendment is to recognize the new automated recycling program.
Council also set September 24, 2018 at 6:00 PM in Council Chambers, as the date, time, and place for the public hearing, and further approved the initiation of an informative public engagement strategy.
ADMINISTRATION
Project Status Reports
After reviewing project status reports, Council approved the following project deadline extensions:
- Sylvan Lake Park Upgrades.
Council accepted all other project status reports as information.
Façade Improvement Program – Grant Request, 5040 – 50 Street
Council awarded a Façade Improvement Program grant of $7,500 to P.Gullon, property owner of 5040 – 50 Street.
Request to award Contract for Festival and Events Strategy Implementation
Council awarded the Festival and Event Strategy Implementation Plan to Carey Strategies for $79,000 plus GST. A portion of this cost is supported through provincial grant funding
