ADMINISTRATION

  • Council approves First Reading to Procedure Bylaw, following a number of amendments. Open Microphone remains part of the bylaw; Each person wishing to appear for Open Microphone shall use the sign-up sheet and provide their name, address, phone number, and topic. Each speaker must remain on the topic provided on the sign-up sheet

CORPORATE SERVICES

  • Council approves an Interim Operating Budget for 2023 in accordance with Section 242 of the MGA for $10.0 million
  • Council also approves the 2023 Capital Budget
  • Council approves the circulation of the proposed 2023 Operating Budget and Financial Plan to the public for input
    • Final adoption of the 2023 operating budget scheduled for March 27, 2023;
    • A public engagement session on the proposed 2023 Operating Budget and Financial Plan is set for Wednesday January 18, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the NexSource Centre

FAMILY AND COMMUNITY SUPPORT SERVICES

  • Council approves and replaces Community Bus Policy

RECREATION, CULTURE & TOURISM

  • Council approves dissolving the Waterfront Commercial District Committee and approves the Tourism Development Committee as a Committee of Council. Council appoints Councillor Payne to be the Council Representative for the Tourism Development Committee, with the term expiring in October 2023
