PUBLIC HEARINGS

  • Hearing for Proposed Bylaw 1839/2021 Land Use Bylaw Amendment
    Council received no input and therefore closed feedback on the proposed Bylaw 1839/2021. 
  • Hearing for Proposed Bylaw 1840/2021 Land Use Bylaw Amendment
    Council received no input and therefore closed feedback on the proposed Bylaw 1840/2021. 
  • Hearing for Proposed Bylaw 1843/2021 Land Use Bylaw Amendment
    Council received no input and therefore closed feedback on the proposed Bylaw 1840/2021. 

CORPORATE SERVICES

  • Council approved the interim operating budget for 2022 following Section 242 of the MGA for $7.0 million, including pre-budget approval of the items listed in this report, as outlined in Report AIR-505.

PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT

  • Council granted second and third reading to Bylaw 1839/2021 to amend the Town’s Land use Bylaw 1695/2015 as requested in Report AIR-503.
  • Council granted second and third reading to Bylaw 1840/2021 to amend the Town’s Land use Bylaw 1695/2015 as requested in Report AIR-502.
  • Council granted second and third reading to Bylaw 1843/2021 to amend the Town’s Land use Bylaw 1695/2015 as requested in Report AIR-500.
  • Council granted second and third reading to Bylaw 1845/2021 the Business Licensing Bylaw, as requested in Report AIR-507.
  • Council granted second reading to Bylaw 1846/2021, to amend the Fees and Charges Bylaw 1833/2021, as requested in Report AIR-508.
  • Council adopted the Development Fee schedule as presented in accordance with Report AIR-498.

Council approved Development Permit 298-2021, for a detached dwelling with a secondary suite, with a relaxation to the minimum parking stall width from 8’ 6” to 8’ 4” located at 5238 50B Avenue (Lot 29, Block D, Plan 152 2234), as presented in Report AIR-504, subject to the following conditions:

  1. Before issuing the development permit, the applicant submits and receives approval for a site grading plan
  2. Place an additional permanent civic address (5238 B) on the front of the dwelling and at the entrance of the secondary suite. The address numbers must contrast to the colour of the dwelling.
  3. Create a hard surface for the parking stalls located at the rear of the property
  4. Construction follows the approved plans
  5. The applicant:
    1. Complies with all Federal, Provincial and Municipal statutes, regulations and codes
    2. Maintains the property to the satisfaction of the Development Authority
    3. Develops in accordance with Land Use Bylaw 1695/2015
    4. Develops in accordance with the Water and Sewer Bylaw
    5. Agrees that future development on-site requires a separate permit application
  6. Store all construction materials, supplies and equipment on the property, not on the public roadway
  7. Ensures continuous cleanup of construction debris tracked onto the public roadway, where access is provided to the property.

PUBLIC WORKS

  • Council granted first reading to proposed Bylaw 1849/2021 and sets the public hearing meeting for January 10, 2022, at 6:00 PM, Council Chambers in the Municipal Government Building, as presented in Report AIR-499.
  • Council granted first reading to Bylaw 1848/2021 and sets the public hearing meeting for January 10, 2022, at 6:00 PM, Council Chambers in the Municipal Government Building, as presented in Report AIR-501.

CORRESPONDENCE

  • Council authorized the Sylvan Lake Municipal Library to appoint BDO Canada LLP as auditor of its annual finances for 2021-2024.
  • Council accepted the cheque distribution listing as information.
