BUSINESS ARISING

Adopt-a-Road Litter Control Program
Council directed Administration to present a policy for an “Adopt-a-Road Litter Control Program,” in Sylvan Lake, to Council at a later date.

PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT

Development Permit | 5039 – 47 Street, Waterfront Direct Control District
Council approved a Development Permit to operate a tourist home located at 5039 – 47 Street, as presented, and subject to terms and conditions. 

COMMUNITY SERVICES

2019 Event Schedule and Invitation List
Council accepted the 2019 Event Schedule and Invitation List as information.

Budget Adjustment for Community Bus Purchase
Council approved the transfer of $49,580 from the Community Social Development Reserve towards the purchase of the Community Bus (CP1816) with the funds to be paid back to the Community Social Development Reserve, as per the Fund Development Plan.

Letter to Hockey Canada, 2021 World Junior Hockey Championship partnership
Council supported the submission of a letter to Hockey Canada in regards to the 2021 World Junior Games in Red Deer.

PUBLIC WORKS

School and Playground Zone Options
Council directed Administration to propose an amendment to the Traffic Bylaw, which reflects option 3 in the report on School and Playground Zone Options, and refer the matter to a Public Hearing. 

Request for Budget Adjustment | Request to Award Tender
Council approved a budget adjustment for an amount not to exceed $50,000 from the solid waste reserve to fund a 2019 Solid Waste Collection Vehicle. 

Council approved the purchase of a 2019 Solid Waste Collection Vehicle from Superior Trucking Ltd. of Calgary, AB for a total amount not to exceed $300,000 exclusive of the goods and services tax. 

Beju Industrial Drive Parking 
Council defeated a motion to modify the timed parking restrictions within the parking zone on the west side of Beju Industrial Drive adjacent to the Comfort Inn and Suites to permit parking within that zone from 5:00 PM through to 9:00 AM on weekdays and that there is no time restriction for parking within that zone on weekends.

2019 Project Work Plans
Council reviewed Project Work Plans, and accepted as information. 

Additional Committee of the Whole Meeting for March
Council approved an additional Committee of the Whole Meeting for March 13, 2019.
