Amend Land Use Bylaw
Council granted First Reading to proposed Bylaw 1779/2019 to amend Land Use Bylaw 1695/2016
Council referred Bylaw 1779/2019 to the Municipal Planning Commission for comment.
Council set March 25, 2019 at 6:00 PM in Council Chambers, as the date, time, and place for a Public Hearing.
Façade Improvement Program
Council directed Administration to continue the Façade Improvement Program for 2019, and allocated $22,500 from operating contingency reserves for the project.
COMMUNITY SERVICES
2019 Community Spirit Capital Grant Applications
Council approved the following grant applications for the amounts specified:
- Lakeway Landing Park Neighbours, grant of $11,000 (based on matching funds),
- Sylvan Lake Minor Baseball, grant of $9,124,
- SPARC Parent Association, grant of $5,000,
- Sylvan Lake Lacrosse Association, grant of $6,000,
- Yetti Lacrosse Association, grant request not approved,
- Sylvan Lake Municipal Library, grant of $8,000,
- Sylvan Lake Rec Hockey, grant of $2,100,
- Central Alberta Disc Golf Association, grant of $3,612,
- Chamber of Commerce, grant of $4,000.
Council directed Administration to roll over the remaining funds to the 2020 budget process.

FINANCE
Utility Account Write Offs
Council approved the write-off of $10,838.58 (net) in utility accounts to bad debts, as indicated on the list included in the agenda package.
Public Requests and Concerns Report
Council accepted the Public Requests and Concerns Report, dated January – December, 2018, as information.
MAYORS PROCLAMATION
Deputy Mayor Hanson proclaimed April 7 – April 13, 2019, as National Volunteer Week.
