Request to Appoint Substitute Returning Officer
Council appointed Vangie Wiseman as the substitute Returning Officer for the 2021 municipal election, as outlined in Report AIR-328.
Win this Space Competition
Council directed Administration to proceed with the development of the Win this Space Competition for Sylvan Lake, as presented in Report AIR-329.
The "Win this Space Competition", is an initiative that originated in Ontario, with consistent success in revitalizing their downtowns using this program. As a business start-up training program combined with a business pitch contest, contestants will be working towards winning free rent for a year at a location of their choice within the Waterfront Commercial District. This competition will result in one new business opening up downtown.
Complete contest rules and regulations will be made available this spring when the contest formally launches.
