PROCOLMATIONS

  • Council proclaims June 21, 2022 as National Indigenous Peoples Day.

DELEGATIONS

  • Mayor Hanson and Council presented Dr. Nel of Advanced Ambulatory Care Service (AACS) with a thank you and gift of appreciation for her many years of service, as she is retiring from her position as the Facility Medical Director of AACS. They also presented the 12 Year Firefighter Service Awards from Alberta Emergency Services to Matt Downey, David Walker, and Richard Mach, for their dedication and commitment to safety.
  • The Youth IMPACT Coalition presented Council with their plan to implement Trough Unlimited Canada’s Yellow Fish Road project to paint yellow fish near storm drains around the community to bring awareness to where our rainwater goes

PLANNING & DEVELOPMENT

  • Council approves Development Permit Application DP #112-2022 to operate a licensed commercial patio located at #2, 1 Sylvan Drive (Lot A, Plan 7920562) with a relaxation to allowing the patio within a yard abutting residential uses as requested in Report AIR-592, subject to conditions
  • Council approves the Alliance Community Church Outline Plan as the guiding document for the future land use, subdivision, and development of the NE 19-38-1 W5, in accordance with Report AIR-590
  • Council approves the amendments to the Crestview Outline Plan and Waterford Station Outline Plan as presented in Reports AIR-587 and AIR-589, respectively
  • Council grants Second (2nd) and Third (3rd) Reading to Bylaws 1857/2022, 1858/2022, and 1861/2022 being bylaws to amend the Town’s Land Use Bylaw 1695/2015 as requested in Report AIR-586
  • Council appoints Serena Reid to the Economic Development Community Advisory Committee for a term to expire October 2023, as requested in Report AIR-583

ADMINISTRATION

  • Council appoints Chelsea Wildeman as Clerk of the Subdivision and Appeal Board, effective immediately, as outlined in Report AIR-584

PARKS AND PROTECTIVE SERVICES

  • Council awards the 2022 Pavement Patching Services tender to Border Paving of Red Deer, Alberta, for an amount not to exceed $300,000.00, excluding GST, as presented in Report AIR-572

PUBLIC WORKS

  • Council directs Administration to award the design and construction-related contract CP1901-01 for intersection upgrades at Highway 20/Memorial Trail/Township Road 384 to McElhanney Ltd. of Edmonton, in an amount to not exceed $350,000.00, excluding GST, as indicated in Report AIR-585
