Leave of Absence
- Council approved a leave of absence, without Council Remuneration/Monthly Honorarium, for Councillor Dakin. The leave is effective now until July 15, 2022, for a work demand.
- Council approved Councillor Rilling to replace Councillor Dakin’s role with the CAO Recruitment Working Group.
Planning & Development
- Council postponed Development Permit DP#099-2022, Additional Use to Existing Music Studio until the Regular Meeting of Council on July 25, 2022.
- Council approved Development Permit #104-2022 to construct a 7.92 m X 8.5 m (26’ X 28’) main floor addition with a second storey and a 5.4 m X 7.9 m (18’ X 26’) attached garage to an existing dwelling located at 5108 50A Avenue (Lot 5, Block B, Plan 3558Q), as outlined in Report AIR-601, subject to conditions.
- Council granted first reading to Bylaw 1862/2022, being a bylaw to amend the Town’s Land Use Bylaw 1695/2022. Council set a Public Hearing for the bylaw on July 25, 2022, 6:00 PM in Council Chambers as the date, as requested in Report AIR-603.
Administration
- Council appointed Mr. Chad Miller to the Municipal Planning Commission for a term ending October 2022, in accordance with Report AIR-596.
Recreation, Culture and Tourism
- Council accepted the Tourism Marketing Strategy Report Card as information as outlined in Report AIR-599.
- Council accepted the Destination Positioning Strategy Report as information in Report AIR-600.
Council Request for Information/Updates
- Mayor Hanson requested that Administration research and explore the options for observing National Truth and Reconciliation Day on September 30, 2022, and if this date can be observed as a statutory holiday for the Town of Sylvan Lake.
