PROCLAMATIONS
Mayor Hanson proclaims the following:
- May 6-10, 2024, as Economic Developmenty Week
- May 16, 2024, as Moose Hide Campaign Day
- May 28, 2024, as Menstrual Health Day
OPEN MICROPHONE
- Mike Detharet of Sylvan Lake, Alberta, spoke to Council regarding a proposal to control invasive fish species
- Pam Mitchell, business owner of Sylvan Lake, Alberta, spoke to Council regarding parking enforcement in private lots
CONSENT AGENDA
- Council grants First Reading to proposed Bylaw 1897-2024, being a bylaw to amend the Town’s Land Use Bylaw to re-designate parts of the SW 28-38-1-W5M
- Council sets June 10, 2024, at 6:00 PM in Council Chambers as the date, time and place for the Public Hearing on Bylaw 1897-2024
- Council approves the Goldfish Infestation and Emergency Approval of Powder-Form Rotenone Pesticide
- Council approves the Independent Office of Integrity for Local Government resolution as seconder, for presentation to the membership at the Alberta Municipalities Convention from September 25 – 27, 2024
PUBLIC HEARINGS AND DELEGATIONS
- The residents of the Sylvan Holdings Society and residents South East of 50A Avenue North of 32 Street spoke to Council regarding permit parking along 50A Avenue to be reinstated (after it was removed on February 8, 2021)
DEMOLITION PERMIT
- Council approves Development Permit Application DP#071-2024 for the demolition (removal) of a moved-in building, portable toilette, two (2) RV units, boat and trailer located at 5026 49 Street (Lot 5; Block 10; Plan 2642AS) as presented in AIR-938 subject to the following conditions:
- Prior to issuance of the development permit the applicant shall:
- Apply for a building permit
- Prior to issuance of the development permit the applicant shall:
- The applicant must remove the structures by no later than July 2, 2024.
- The applicant ensuring:
- Compliance with all Federal, Provincial and Municipal statues, regulations and codes;
- The property is maintained to the satisfaction of the Development Authority.

- Council approves Third Reading of Fees and Charges Bylaw
RECREATION, CULTURE & TOURISM
- Council repeals the Recreation, Culture & Tourism Policy R-001-001A
- Council adopts the amended proposed Ice Allocation Policy
- Council adopts the amended proposed Swimming Pool Allocation Policy
- Council adopts the amended proposed Sports Field Allocation Policy
SAFE & INCLUSIVE ACCESS BYLAW
- Council approves Second and Third Reading of Traffic Safety Bylaw 1896-2024
