BUSINESS ARISING FROM THE MINUTES

School Zone Signage
Council directed Administration to perform a review and provide a recommendation to Council for changes, if any, to school and playground signage in Sylvan Lake. 

PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT

Development Permit | 4607 Lakeshore Drive
Council approved Development Permit #191-2018, for use of the building as a restaurant, and accessory uses to the building located at 4607 Lakeshore Drive (Waterfront Direct Control District), as presented, subject to terms and conditions.

Extension of Time for Conditional Subdivision Approval | Vistas at Ryders Ridge
Council granted the request for an extension of time to October 2, 2019 for Subdivision File 2770-30-176.

Extension of Time for Conditional Subdivision Approval | Crestview Public Facility Lot
Council granted the request for an extension of time to September 5, 2019 for Subdivision File 2770-30-175.

Northeast Gateway Area Structure Plan
Council passed First Reading to Proposed Bylaw 1775/2018.

Council also set December 10, 2018 at 6:00 PM in Council Chambers as the date, time, and place for the Public Hearing for Bylaw 1775/2018.

COMMUNITY SERVICES

Dog Access to Water
Council directed Administration to proceed with an extensive public consultation process to determine residents' desire to have access to water for dogs.

Council directed Administration to communicate with our neighbouring municipalities of the Summer Village of Norglenwold, and the Summer Village of Jarvis Bay to determine if there are potential locations for dog access to the water in their jurisdictions, on which we can collaborate.

Council directed Administration to bring back the results of the extensive public consultation process to determine residents’ desire to have access to water for dogs, with a recommendation no later than the April 30, 2019. 

Visitor Paid Parking Program | Year-End Report
Council accepted the Visitor Paid Parking Program Year-End Report 2018 for information, as presented.

Council added the Residential District North of 33 Street to the “Residential Only Parking Districts”.

Rescind Contractor Safety Policy
Council rescinded the Contractor Safety, and accepted as information the new Contractor Safety Administrative Policy.

ADMINISTRATION

2018 Satisfaction Survey Results
Council accepted the 2018 Community Satisfaction Survey Report, as information.

Façade Improvement Program – Grant Request, 5043 – 50 Street
Council awarded a Façade Improvement Program grant of $7,500 to 1137322 Alberta Ltd, property owner of 5043 – 50 Street. 

FINANCE

Council Chambers Audio System Upgrade
Council approved the upgrade to the Council Chambers Audio System, and accepted the proposal from Evolution Audio Visual for $26,121 plus GST.
