CORPORATE SERVICES
- Council approves the Parkland Regional Library Budget for the 2023 fiscal year at $8.75 per capita.
- Council accepts the 2023 Budget information from Sylvan Lake Municipal Library and deliberate the request during the Town of Sylvan Lake’s upcoming budget process.
- Council gives Second and Third Reading to update the Fees and Charges Bylaw.
- Council approves an operating grant to Vantage Community Services Society, equal to the property taxes on property held and used each year, for a three-year period, commencing in 2023 and expiring in 2025.
Council also approves an operating grant to Incline Industries, equal to the property taxes prorated based on the amount of space leased in the facility at 4425 50 Street and 50% of the adjacent parking lot at 4427 50 Street, for a three-year period commencing in 2023 and expiring in 2025.
Both of these operating grants will be paid annually upon receipt of all information requested by the Town of Sylvan Lake verifying the operations and non-profit status of both applicants. This information is to be provided to the Town prior to November 30th each year in order to receive the operating grant the following year.
- Council directs Administration to enter into an agreement with RSM Canada LLP for financial statement audit services for a five (5) year term, beginning with the 2022 fiscal year and ending with the 2026 fiscal year.
PARKS AND PROTECTIVE SERVICES
- Council approves Third Reading to Vehicle for Hire Business Bylaw.
CORRESPONDENCE AND INFORMATION
- The Town of Sylvan Lake requests that the Parkland Regional Library Board review and amend Section 8.3 of the Membership Agreement, updating this Section to use the population estimates that Municipal Affairs relies on to calculate capital and operating grant funding for municipalities.
