PUBLIC HEARING & DELEGATIONS

Parkland Regional Library Systems and Sylvan Lake Municipal Library Budget Presentation
Mr. Ron Sheppard appeared before Council, via TEAMS, to present Parkland Regional Library’s budget request for 2022. Andrea Newland followed Mr. Sheppard’s presentation (present in Council Chambers), and presented the Sylvan Lake Municipal Library’s budget request for 2022.


ADMINISTRATION

Genesis Reciprocal Advisory Board
Council approves the appointment of CAO Wally Ferris to the Genesis Advisory Board as defined in Report AIR-479.

Capital Projects
Council extends the completion dates for different capital projects, including 30 Street Lift Station (June 2023), 46 Street Storm Main Upgrade (December 2022) and 46 Street & 47 Avenue Traffic Signals) December 2022.

Third Quarter Reports
Council accepts third quarter reports from Public Works and Recreation, Culture and Tourism as information.


CORPORATE SERVICES

Parkland Regional Library & Sylvan Lake Municipal Library
Council approves the Parkland Regional Library Budget for the 2022 fiscal year at $8.55 per capita and advise the PRL Board in writing, as outlined in Report AIR-476. Council also accepts the 2022 Budget information from Sylvan Lake Municipal Library and deliberate the request during the Town of Sylvan Lake’s upcoming budget process.

ATCO Gas Franchise Fees
Council approves the natural gas franchise fee rate with ATCO Gas at 27% for the 2022 fiscal year, as outlined in Report AIR-470.

Fortis Electrical Franchise Fee
Council approves the electrical system franchise fee rate of 15% with Fortis Alberta for the 2022 fiscal year, as outlined in Report AIR-471.


RECREATION, CULTURE & TOURISM

Digital Service Squad Grant Application
Council approves the request for a letter of support to be included in the Digital Service Squad Grant application, as presented in Report AIR-478

CORRESPONDENCE

Family Violence Prevention Month
Mayor Rilling proclaims the month of November 2021 to be Family Violence Prevention Month in Sylvan Lake.
