HIGHLIGHTS
Council approved the following:
- August 28, 2025 Regular Meeting of Council Meeting Minutes as presented
- September 2, 2025 Committee of the Whole Meeting Minutes as presented
- The write-off of $5,660.14 (net) in accounts receivable to bad debts (Report AIR-1226)
- Development Permit # 265-2025, for a one storey walk out commercial building for offices and personal services use located at 30, 50 and 70 Pelican Place, (Lots 2,3 &4, Block 4, Plan 042 3285) as presented in AIR-1222, with a relaxation from the maximum ground floor height of 3.7 m to 4.6 m subject to the following conditions as is in the agenda package as amended to remove Item 1.a.iv
- The Dollar for Doors Program (Report AIR-1228) and authorize Administration to begin implementing the program; and approves an additional $540,000 of HAF funds be allocated to the Dollars for Doors Program
FRANCHISE FEES
- Council confirms the electrical system franchise fee rate of 18% with Fortis Alberta for the 2026 fiscal year
ORGANIZATIONAL REVIEW
- Council accepts the update on the Organization Review and budget impacts for information
PARKING REQUIREMENTS
- Council directs Administration to bring forward a report and facilitate a discussion at a future Committee of the Whole meeting regarding the potential to reduce, streamline or eliminate parking minimum requirements within the Town of Sylvan Lake. This discussion shall be scheduled no later than March 2026.
