Meeting Date and Time Changes

Starting June 10, 2025, Regular meetings of Council will take place the second and fourth Tuesday of every month. Committee of the Whole meetings will be held the first and third Tuesdays of the month.
What’s Changing?
- Council Meetings move from Mondays to Tuesdays
- Committee of the Whole Meetings move from Wednesdays to Tuesdays
- Meetings start at 4:00 PM from 6:00 PM
- Addition of second Committee of the Whole meeting each month (as required)
- Proposed start time of 5:00 PM for Public Hearings and Open Mic sessions (these are currently held at the beginning of Council Meetings at 6:00 PM). The open mic time will be confirmed and shared in June once debated by council
Why?
- Provides a more consistent schedule for Council, staff and residents
- Designed to eliminate the need for last-minute scheduled Special Meetings of Council
- Allows Council additional time, if needed, to address agenda items
- Additional monthly Committee of the Whole meeting keeps them more effective by spreading out agenda items, as needed, without running meetings long
- Will be reviewed annually to determine best format and keep meetings optimized
- Cost savings measure; by starting meetings earlier, less budget will be spent on overtime for staff who are presenting at Council Meetings and Commitee of the Whole meetings
