Residential Parking Changes for 2023
Posted on:
Paid Parking begins Monday May 15, 2023. The Town is partnering with a new parking provider, HotSpot. We are using HotSpot to manage the residential and visitor paid parking program for 2023 and beyond. We did our best to move everyone’s previous registration to the new system. Some resident information may not show up, so please confirm your vehicles are registered before May 15, 2023.
Step 1: Log in
- Head to the HotSpot Parking website to log in OR download the app by clicking the link in the website
- Login with the email you used in the previous system
- You may need to reset your password. If your password reset does not work, email support@htsp.ca or call 1 855 712 5888 between 5:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Step 2: Add your vehicles
- Residents must register their vehicles before May 15
- Check and see if your vehicle (up to 4 license plates) is registered
- Head to the HotSpot Parking website or app and login
- Website: Click the ‘Vehicles’ tab on the left
- App: Click the menu, then 'Manage My Vehicles'
- Enter your vehicle’s details and click ‘Save’
- Repeat for up to four vehicles
Step 3: Add your residential parking permit
The new system should have carried over one permit. You must add a permit for each vehicle, for up to 4 permits.
- Click on ‘Permits’ and then ‘MyPermits’
- Select a vehicle to be active on that permit
- To add more permits, or if your permit does not show up, add another permit:
- Click on ‘Permits’ and then ‘Special Permits’ or ‘Apply for Permit’
- Select Sylvan Lake as your municipality
- Upload proof of residency and proof of address. Use images/scans of your driver’s license, insurance, or utility bill
- Fill out the rest of the form and submit
- Repeat for up to 4 permits, one vehicle per permit
Register all your vehicles
- Parking enforcement is based on plate numbers, so you must add your vehicle to your account
- You can also add rental vehicle plate numbers
- Head to the HotSpot FAQ for more information and answers to questions you may have
