Town adopts 2019 Budget and Three Year Financial Plan

The Town of Sylvan Lake has adopted the 2019 budget and three-year financial plan. The budget includes 2.74% municipal tax rate increase for both residential and non-residential properties.
“Core infrastructure, sustainability, and enhanced municipal service delivery are our priorities. In 2018, we focused on planning for the future, and collaborating with Sylvan Lakers and our neighbours to create strategies for success. Now in 2019, it’s time to implement these strategies through continued policy framework and fiscally responsible stewardship.”

The Operating Budget includes expanded online services, improved pedestrian safety, ongoing park and trail enhancements, and economic development initiatives such as a tourism impact assessment, and ongoing investment attraction initiatives are also planned.
The Capital Budget includes a new water well and connection, major road upgrades, and funding for the future Pogadl Park. The new water reservoir and pump house is also a major ongoing project.

- Capital Budget for 2019: $13,261,000
The annual increase for an average property, in 2019, is approximately $60.00.
