Town Receives Sizeable Tourism Grant from Federal Government

The Town of Sylvan Lake received $297,000 in grant funding for its new 10-Year Tourism Destination Management Plan project during an announcement made in Edmonton on Monday, February 27.

Mayor Megan Hanson and Councillor Tim Mearns joined partners at the Tourism Industry Association Tourism Advocacy Summit where TIAA, Travel Alberta, the Government of Alberta, and the Government of Canada announced recipients of the Federal Government’s Tourism Relief Fund grant program.

The Town is contributing $53,000 to support the project, increasing the total project cost to $350,000.
