PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT

Land Use Bylaw, Marina Bay Water Access Platforms | Bylaw 1786/2019
Council granted First Reading of Bylaw 1786/2019, being a Bylaw to amend the Town’s Land Use Bylaw.

Council set July 22, 2019 at 6:00 PM in Council Chambers of the Municipal Government Meeting as the date, time, and place for a Public Hearing on Bylaw 1786/2019.

Development Permit | 5013 – 47 Street
Council approved a Development Permit to construct a detached dwelling located at 5013 – 47 Street, subject to conditions.

COMMUNITY SERVICES

Fire Bylaw
Council grated Second and Third Reading of Fire Bylaw 1785/2019.

PUBLIC WORKS

Highway 20 and Erickson Drive Intersection Upgrades
Council awarded the contract for the intersection modifications at Erickson Drive and Highway 20 as presented in Report AIR-29 to Pidherney’s of Blackfalds for $1,914,801, excluding 10% contingency and GST;

Council reallocated $561,060 from the 2019 Street Rehabilitation Program (CP1905) to Highway 20 and Erickson Drive Intersection (CP1801);

Council reallocated $583,950 from the transportation off-site reserves to Highway 20 and Erickson Drive Intersection (CP1801).

Glass Recycling Update
Council received the Glass Recycling Update Report as information, as presented. 

Instrumentation and Control Services Contract
Council directed Administration to award the SCADA upgrades for water and sewer services as articulated in Report AIR-30 to Associated Engineering of Edmonton, Alberta not exceeding $213,000;

Council also directed Administration to award the general maintenance of instrumentation and control for water and sewer systems as articulated in Report AIR-30 to Associated Engineering of Edmonton, Alberta not exceeding $104,000.

ADMINISTRATION

AUMA Award Submission | REIMAGINE SYLVAN
Council approved the award submission of REIMAGINE SYLVAN to AUMA’s 2019 Sustainability Action Award, as requested.

FINANCE

Appointment of Assessor for the Town of Sylvan Lake
Council approved the appointment of Mr. Kevin Bohlken, as the assessor for the Town of Sylvan Lake, as requested.

2019 First Quarter Financial Reports
Council accepted the First Quarter Financial Reports, for the period ending March 31, 2019, as presented.
