Posters, fliers, stickers & signs | Where not to place them
Posted on:
The Town of Sylvan Lake is reminding residents and visitors not to place posters, fliers, stickers, or any other form of signage on public infrastructure including, but not limited to:
- Light/telephone posts
- Waste bins
- Benches/chairs
- Rails/fencing
- Planters
- Pay Parking Equipment
- Playground equipment
- Monuments or signage
- Public amenities such as gazebos, fountains, etc.
The placement of such items is not permitted, as per our Community Standards Bylaw, and items will be removed. The posters, fliers, etc. are unsightly, and end up wearing, tearing, and even blowing around. We have a beautiful community – a beautiful waterfront, and we’re asking you all to help us keep Sylvan Lake “brilliant all year”.

*Did you know? Most signs need a sign permit, but some exceptions exist. Those sign exceptions must still adhere to municipal rules. For signage rules please review Part 8 of our Land Use Bylaw.
