Boat Lift Approvals
Please note that the Town of Sylvan Lake does not issue approvals for boat lifts. This responsibility falls under the Province of Alberta, as boat lifts are considered mooring structures on public lands.
If you are planning to install a boat lift, you must apply for a Temporary Field Authorization (TFA) through the Government of Alberta.

Changes to the Bay Near Chateau Suites
Starting Spring 2026, the bay area in front of Chateau Suites (5100 Lakeshore Drive) will undergo a change in use:
- A designated swim zone will be added.
- A boat dock will be installed along the west side of the pier.
As a result, boat mooring will no longer be permitted in this area. These changes are part of ongoing efforts to enhance public safety and recreational access along the waterfront.
