Family & Community Centre Reopening

Posted on:

As we continue to implement implements Phase Two of the Provincial Government's COVID relaunch plans, Community Centre facilities are now able to re-open to the public, in alignment with a number of guidelines and safety measures to ensure the safety of its patrons and staff.

Sylvan Lake's Family and Community Centre is scheduled to reopen to the public on Monday, June 29.

As we prepare to reopen the Centre for a safe relaunch for all of our users and staff, here are some measures taking place to keep all users and staff safe and healthy when returning to the facility.

  • Some areas within the facility will remain closed due to regulations set forth by the province. Some restrictions in other areas of the facility and other programs may be affected.
  • Programs will be modified to meet COVID-19 restrictions, social distancing protocols, and safety precautions. Occupancy loads inside the Family & Community Centre are reduced in order to comply with provincial regulations. This affects the capacities of some of our programs and offerings.
  • Altered programs, such as the Family Resource Network, and Flipside Youth Centre programs will run at smaller capacity and session lengths.
  • FCSS programs are able to see clients in person within the building as of June 29. We recommend you make an appointment ahead of time in order to ensure social distancing and safety precautions.
  • Home Support services resume in home as of June 19th on a scaled back level. This means that we cannot fully operate at full capacity at this time.

Please note that the Town is also reviewing changes to check-in procedures and facility access.
