A Land Use Bylaw (LUB), is a Town bylaw that identifies a range of regulations that affect properties and land uses within the municipality. Sylvan Lake's Land Use Bylaw 1695/2015 includes:
- Regulations for the use and size of land and buildings;
- Land use districts, or zones, and the development standards for each; and
- Permitted and discretionary uses for each land use district
Zoning
All land within the Town is given a land use district, or zoning, through the Land Use Bylaw. Each district outlines the permitted and discretionary uses that could be built within that area. Current municipal zoning districts include:
- Residential
- Commercial
